Introducing: “Zoë”
I took my inspiration from our paddock for this one. This is Zoë. Her presence has been in our paddocks for forever and a day, and I evolved her into an Indian war horse.
For those who aren’t aware, Indian war horses were revered champions to warriors, protectors, and symbols of strength guided by spirit. This is my second war horse.
In this painting, Zoë embodies that lineage, inspired by the land she lives on. She is not armoured, but adorned her form reflecting strength, protection, and lived presence. The vibrant colours echo ceremonial decoration and life force, while the side profile was chosen to suggest forward motion, purpose, and the wisdom of knowing when to stand firm and when to move on.
Zoe was painted with the intention of carrying the same war horse qualities of protection & strength, and to serve as a guardian to the space she comes to belong to 🤎
